Adam Bridgland - I Need This Wilderness For My Heart To Beat

Adam often makes artworks that combine memories, shared recollections and nostalgia. His typographic works are statements but, whether poem or placard, they try to tap into a language that is largely universal. Starting with found archival images, postcards or posters as a base, Adam then builds colour, depth and texture with paint, finally finishing with the words that become the title of each artwork.

Since his graduation from the Royal College of Art in 2006 Adam Bridgland has exhibited widely across the world. His works are in major collections, such as The British Museum and the V&A, and he has produced commissions for YouTube, ACE Hotel and Unilever. Adam lives and works in Cambridgeshire.
